Wooden
You have heard of Nick Saban, Bill Belichick, and Phil Jackson, but what about arguably the most successful coach of all time John Wooden? While all of the former coaches are great and have done remarkable things, John Wooden was a generational coach. Armed with wisdom beyond his years, John led UCLA to 10 NCAA championships (including 7 in a row from 1967 - 1973), established an NCAA record by winning 88 games in a row at one point, and was named NCAA Coach of the Year 7 times. While those accolades are impressive, believe it or not he has coached more success off the basketball court rather than on it.
Faith, Family, and Friends, Wooden always lived by and preached these priorities. He taught his athletes to focus on one primary objective: Be the best you can be in whatever endeavor you undertake. Not going to give them all away here, but "Wooden" coaches and teaches us hundreds of lessons in this book.
It is rumored that Several Prominent figures have passed away with Marcus Aurelius "Meditations" on their night stand. This book can easily challenge that spot. A great father, husband, leader, and teacher, this book has an infinite amount of knowledge on life. Give it a read if you are looking for a great book on how to be the best you!
